From the top of the buildings to its grimy surrounds.

Through arches and alleys, through parks and parades

Pushing through people as they go on their way.

About The Town

There’s an ice cream seller on the corner of the street

Doing lively business, it’s where everybody meets.

Two crazy looking ladies with umbrellas in the rain

Dancing with each other dressed exactly the same.

About The Town

Children on their scooters burning in the sun

Forsaking their computers for a little outdoor fun.

You walk towards the towers of the new cityscape

How high can they go in this vertical landscape?

About The Town

Yellow taxis on the water, from rail to armoury

Taking the tourists, taking them for free.

Students in their towers, looking down on the City of Leeds

It’s always changing, it’s future proceeds.

John Joseph Dolan started playing music at the age of eleven with his first cheap acoustic guitar and the use of a reel to reel tape recorder to capture those early experiments in sound in his home town of Stockport. He is a multi-instrumentalist with guitar being the main instrument. He has collaborated with many other musicians over the years and played with Leeds band Spiderfish until 2007. ... more
