Plugged In [revisited]
02:52
|
|||
There he is he's a mainliner
Plugged in straight to the vein
There's a choice, some choice, yes sir!
Maybe four, or cable up more
He's an addict, he knows about it
Power electric, transmission in
He's smart, he buys a paper
Reads the time then tunes in.
Uh oh! I'm feeling like that now
Uh oh! just turn on
Oh no! glued in vision
Oh no! Television.
No music, don't know Mahler
Ravel "he skates on ice!"
And Handel "in the small room?"
Stick to watching comedy and vice
No outside, just inside now
Just 2D, screen on
What about your Neighbours?
"Haven't seen them, channel one?"
Uh oh! I'm feeling like that now
Uh oh! just turn on
Oh no! glued in vision
Oh no! Television.

Follow Me Down
04:55
|
|||
You know its easy
To be unlucky
You know it’s easy
To be sorry
I see the night’s come
I know that we’ve gone
Are we happy. . .with this?
Try to follow, follow me down
No-one needs us in this town
Try to follow, follow me down
It’s time to feast now, turn around
Follow me down
And the light comes
Are we still warm?
And the day comes
Are we still calm?
There’s no reason
For intervention
Are we happy. . .with this?
Try to follow, follow me down
Our wings they make no sound
Try to follow, follow me down
It’s time to feast now, turn around
Follow me down
Try to follow, follow me down
No-one loves us in this town
Try to follow, follow me down
It’s time to dance now, turn around
Follow me down

Tyrant Tango
03:57
|
|||
And there is life and there is death and I am feeling so hard-pressed to understand the meaning of the past and where it fits in with the the state of the oppressed we see today.
And there are rules and there are laws and there are edicts in the world but it doesn’t to seem to matter to those in control and I wonder when the revolution will begin.
They take our money they take our pride they take the tears we often cry they shake the hands of the church and still they pass us by, they are blinkered to all wars and that’s not all …
They choose cash before the peace and they don’t welcome any beliefs because they lie and still the lied to sometimes applaud the beast and where it’s going to end no one seems to know.
So what do you do?
So what can you say?
Do you just live your life the same way?
Or do you just leave … and walk away?

Adventure Holiday
05:22
|
|||
When you're dead on your feet
And you have no food to eat
And the sun fires its heat
And your best friend won’t speak
Then you know you're on an adventure holiday (x2)
You came for experience
Told you haven’t any sense
The ground hard, your body tense
For ninety pounds and fifty pence
You're on an adventure holiday (x 2)
CHORUS
Doesn't matter if you miss the train
Doesn't matter if it starts to rain
Doesn't matter if you feel a little pain
Next year you'll do the same
Adventure holiday (x2)
Never had a grudge to bear
Doesn't matter if your clothes tear
Dancing in a tigers lair
Photographing eastern wares
We're on an adventure holiday (x2)
Showing passports getting funny looks
Trying to read a foreign book
The trains full of Italian crooks
Your friends escaped by giving up
It’s your adventure holiday (x2)
CHORUS
When you return to Leeds
The first thing you do is feed
Grab everything you need
For two weeks fast asleep
You've been on an adventure holiday (x2)
When you see your friends they wonder why
You didn’t travel by sea or fly
With Jet2 airways direct by sky
To Majorca, Benidorm, but why?
When you can have an adventure holiday (x2)

Curtain Call
04:03
|
|||
There are black marks on my book
There are seven holes that burn
I don’t explain my life to you
Think you’ve lost the plot now . . .
There’s some evidence you’ve been here
There’s some shiny things around you.
I don’t wanna . . . turn off my light
But I don’t want to see you fall
I don’t wanna . . . be a white knight
I can see it’s your last curtain call.
Sometimes I make a stand
Then turn my eyes away
I free fall into bed
Think I’ve lost the plot now . . .
There’s some evidence I’ve been here
There’s some shiny things around me.
I don’t wanna . . . leave tonight
I’m tired of standing tall
I don’t wanna . . . start a fight
I can see it’s my last curtain call.
It’s my last curtain call
It’s my last curtain call
It’s my last curtain call

About The Town
04:09
|
|||
Taking the time, to take in the town
From the top of the buildings to its grimy surrounds.
Through arches and alleys, through parks and parades
Pushing through people as they go on their way.
About The Town
There’s an ice cream seller on the corner of the street
Doing lively business, it’s where everybody meets.
Two crazy looking ladies with umbrellas in the rain
Dancing with each other dressed exactly the same.
About The Town
Children on their scooters burning in the sun
Forsaking their computers for a little outdoor fun.
You walk towards the towers of the new cityscape
How high can they go in this vertical landscape?
About The Town
Yellow taxis on the water, from rail to armoury
Taking the tourists, taking them for free.
Students in their towers, looking down on the City of Leeds
It’s always changing, it’s future proceeds.

She Wants To Be Sure Now
04:37
|
|||
She wants to be sure now, she wants to be real
She wants to give something back, she wants to be so hard
She wants to give me something I wanted, just to mine
She wants to give me something I wanted, I wanted.
She wants to be sure now, that I take everything she said as truth
She wants to be real, she wants to tell me she has the proof
It’s just a holiday for her
It’s just a holiday…..and…..
There are other homes I can go to, homes to go to
Homes to go to when I’m down………and I feel
I want to give you something now
I want to give you something new
I want to give you something that’s real.
She wants to be sure now, she has my number on her mobile phone
She can’t understand me, sometimes I just want to be alone
She wants to give me something I wanted, just to be mine
She wants to give me something I wanted, I wanted.
It’s just a holiday for her
It’s just a holiday…..and…..
There are other homes I can go to, homes to go to
Homes to go to when I’m down………and I feel
I want to give you something now
I want to give you something new
I want to give you something that’s real.
